I want to see a 15 player trade with four teams. Something you could write a book about ten years from now.

It'd be one hell of a documentary, especially if 10 of them are prospects and you could recap their impact on the organization they got traded to.

Angels To Sign Sean Burnett
By Tim Dierkes [December 5 at 4:11pm CST]
The Angels reinforced their bullpen with another free agent today, reaching an agreement with lefty Sean Burnett on a two-year deal with a club option, according to MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez. Burnett is represented by Jim Munsey.
Burnett, 30, had been drawing strong interest as one of the best free agent lefty relievers available this offseason. He posted a 2.38 ERA, 9.1 K/9, 1.9 BB/9, 0.64 HR/9, and 57.4% groundball rate in 56 2/3 innings for the Nationals in 2012.

Looking around 2/$8, good signing.

Last day of the Winter Meetings...Does Greinke or Hamilton sign before the end of day?...Does the rumored 4 team "Blockbuster" come to fruition? ....any surprise signings or deals happen?

I'm going with 'no' to all of the above. These have been the most boring winter meetings I can recall. Probably not going to get any better.

Perhaps the first Domino does fall today....

According to Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times, the Mariners are "very close" to a deal with Josh Hamilton.

The Rangers are going to be given every opportunity to counter whatever offer Seattle has made but are currently locked into a fight with the Dodgers over free agent right-hander Zack Greinke. So this Hamilton thing may take a little while to sort itself out. It would be a surprising but excellent get for the M's, who have struggled to attract top offensive talent.

Hamilton to the Mariners? Ugh. That would be horrible. Was really hoping he would land in Baltimore (knew that was a long shot) and if not, Philly.

What does philly give up??

MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reports that the Phillies have acquired outfielder Ben Revere from the Twins.

It's not yet clear what the Twins are getting in return, but they've been on the hunt for young starting pitching. Revere will presumably start in center field for the Phillies. He batted .294/.333/.342 with 40 stolen bases in 124 games this past season for Minnesota.

EDIT: According to Heyman, Worley to Minn....

One possible outcome in a #Rangers-#Diamondbacks-#Rays three-way trade: Upton to TEX; a TB starter to AZ; Olt, other prospects to TB.

This trade makes no sense for AZ

Towers has said all along they want a 2-3 player deal for Upton and were trying to acquire a SS for him, not a SP.

So why would that now change into AZ taking just a starting pitcher for him?

Guessing this is just more internal discussions than actual talk

Yep, perhaps that is why they need a 4th team who has a SS to make it happen...Weird since Tex has a SS to "Spare"....let's see what comes of it

Texas has said they will not trade Andrus or Profar multiple times so far.

Personally I think Texas is waiting for an answer on Hamilton/Greinke before they pull the trigger on another deal.

I think if it came down to it, Andrus would be available in a deal for Upton but Texas doesnt want to show it's hand just yet because of the Hamilton situation
