#/25

Who needs a multi-hundred dollar prospect orange auto #/25 when you can get a HOFer ref auto #/25 for only $42 dlvd!! This is the first or second I have seen and I jumped on it right away, wanted to complete my rainbow baby! Man is it nice looking in person! Looks fantastic next to the base auto:

And [sorry no scans as of yet] big shoutouts to David for the Lofton autoed ball and the Oswalt and Thome A&G game used and also to Jeff for the Doerr Prime Cuts base! :)

Thanks for looking,
-Scott

Congrats.
Thanks Russ!! This now brings me to 37 Bobby Doerr autograph cards, 6 PSA/DNA slabbed index card autos, 2 autographed baseballs, and 1 autographed picture. Not too shabby! ;)

very nice card, but no need to piss on people that like to collect rookie cards
Thanks Eric, but not sure I pissed on anyone? Just stating that I was happy to pay a lot less for a PC card...believe me if I had more money to spend I would pay $100 or so on a RC chrome auto of a Sox player but with my budget I was happy to get this rare card for a decent price seeings how they never show up. I meant no disrespect, and know people collect different things and I'm fine with that. I suppose I was just excited that I didn't have to pay a few hundred dollars for it. ;)

You are right, sorry about that. I could see how you'd be excited to pick up a rare oncard auto of the guy you collect.

Thanks Alex, appreciate it...I also love my vintage cards. :) Getting them graded next week also!!

pghbuccos - Thanks!

TBP - I thought you would like that it's a 9 :) I am also a fan of 9's because you can get them a hell of a lot cheaper than 9.5's and they look just as nice! IMO

Did you just call a base and ref a completed rainbow?

I've always thought the extent of the term "rainbow" has gotten just ridiculous (mojo anyone?), but thanks for taking it to a whole new level.

Nice pick-up though. I want the Killebrew from that set and a seller has one for $295 on ebay... wish he'd go down to $42! :P

I agree, isn't a rainbow suppose to have some color in it as well?

Well, if you want me to be honest Flight...yes I did. :P That ref took forever for me to track down being #/25, I felt as if it was quite an accomplishment. I suppose I just wanted to fit in with the chromies. 8-)

And that's too bad the seller has the Killebrew listed so high, if it's ever up in auction then you deff have to snag it, they look great in person.

Well seeings how in this set they have a base and a ref #/25 that is the only color in it. I have both of Doerrs chrome autos from the set and was happy with that. I'm sorry I don't have the money to drop to complete a "true" rainbow.
