I'm trying to finish up my custom David Price A&G set (along with the actual 2009 A&G set) and I've decided to make a custom patch card.

I'm not going to actually cut up a real game used item because I don't want to ruin anything, so I've purchased some iron on patches from ebay:
- Rays w/ ray
- WS Patch
- Rays
- MLB Logo

Of course, these will be "fake" patch cards, but they are for my permanent PC so I don't want to hear any flack

Here's the plan, since I can't fully design a card from scratch b/c my photoshop skills are lacking, I want to borrow a current design for my card. This is what I have done with other customs I've made and have managed to pull it off with limited photoshopping skills.

My predicament: What current design should I use for the patches I purchased? I really like the UD Ballpark design for the MLB Logo patch and the 06 Sweet Spot Update Sweet Beginnings Patches, but I wanted some input.

Also, if you guys have scans of your suggestions, that would be great as well.

Thanks for your time and let the suggestions roll!

If you're going with a jumbo patch I like this design:

Here is one I made for my PC:

The autograph is on a sticker from a cert that was creased, and the design is from Miggy's 2003 SPx Base Card. I hope this helps! :)

Wow, thats very cool John, especially with the auto. How were you able to assemble the card if you don't mind my asking?

Thanks for posting.

No problem. Here is how I did it:

-First, I measured the patch size, then marked it off with a ruler on the card in place I wanted the patch to be

-Second, I cut the window in the card with a trimmer

-Third, I put the Logo patch on the back so that is in the correct place if you are looking at the card on the front, then I secured it with permanent 2-sided tape

-After that, I cut a square of 90lb cardstock and stuck it with double sided tape on the back of what I hade done

-For the back, I used one of my many commons of Miggy that I have doubles of, then affixed it to the back with another layer of permanent double sided tape.

-After all the layers were pefectly lined up, I pressed it to make sure it was all perfectly stuck together

- For the autograph, I used an Exacto knife to peal off the sticker, then I put it on my new card

That's it. It fits in a thick one touch 8-)

Thanks for the explanation John. One of the key issues I want to make sure I get correct is card thickness and for the patch to sit back in the cut out of the card. Your method is what I was thinking would work best, so thank you.

Make sure to pick up an X-acto knife for the cutting.

Will make it a lot easier.
