Topps announces that it has included additional content to its highly-anticipated 2008 Bowman Sterling Baseball release.

As a bonus, each 4-box case will include a special redemption card for a (1) exclusive 2009 World Baseball Classic Patch Card. Because the Classic will not be played until March 2009, all subjects will be TBD.

Topps holds the exclusive rights to produce trading cards of players participating in the 2009 World Baseball Classic.

Each 5-card pack of 2008 Bowman Sterling Baseball includes (2) Autographs, (1) Relic or Autographed Relic, (1) Rookie and (1) Prospect. Bowman Sterling hits hobby shelves exclusively next week!

I might be a bit more enthused about this announcement if these patches were to be autographed.

As well as an announced print run.

I see Topps is already using the "E" word. Wonder if Razor had anything to do with it. "Topps holds the exclusive rights to produce trading cards of players participating in the 2009 World Baseball Classic."

This is easily one of the worst products to come out every year, in my opinion. It is cluttered with so many garbage autos of nobodies and the design is always terrible. I just don't like Bowman Sterling...

But for rookie collectors it is one of the best sets per year. They have said they will do on card soon, which really makes it a lot better set after this year.

That is one of the other reasons I forgot to mention, the sticker autos are garbage and look terrible. It just seems like the hits in this product are few and far between... granted I have never opened any, but I pay attention to the box breaks and the YouTube box breaks.

UD had exclusive rights to the WBC last time around so I don't think it has anything to do with Razor.

That has been verified by certain people at topps.

Well that we CAN thank Razor for... that's one of the things no one can argue, they are pushing the "big two" to be more consumer friendly.

So is Upper Deck, all three companies have been nothing but super supportive of my site and easy to communicate with.

sorry to say this has nothing to do with Razor, it was known last year that 2009 Bowman Sterling was going to be oncard. They just couldn't do it this year for some reason.

Thats an interesting idea to say the least. I really liked the WBC patches that UD did in Sweet Spot Update in 06. I thought those were eye catching and the player selection should be great!

The WBC still doesn't even know 100% who is in it, how can Topps?

Understandable. Still, to not know anything except getting a patch is a little lackluster.

Every year after 2004 it has gone downhill. But 2004 was a great release.
