Worse Topps auto idea? Scout Autos or Rip Girl Autos?

Seeing the topic where the guy got a Scout Auto made me think of this. I was never happy to pull either.

At least the scout autos are baseball related. The rip girl autos are just plain stupid and pointless.

Worst Topps Autos....

1) Bowman Scout Auto (I know who it is that signed them and it's just REALLY sad - Please don't ask) ::facepalm::
2) Scout Autos

I can't hate on the Rip Girls autos. At least they are nice to look at.

For those of you that prefer the rip girl autos, ive lost what little respect i had for you.

These are supposed to be baseball cards. Put baseball related stuff in them. If you want girly cards then go buy the benchwarmers cards or a deck of nude girl playing cards. I dont want to see some teenage girl barely through puberty in my pack of baseball cards. If Topps wants to do that then they need to come out with another product. 2010 Topps ********* Edition.

My thought is fairly simple, there are products that feature autographs of models, popular with a minority in the hobby. I am still waiting to see a "Behind the Scenes" baseball autograph set featuring scouts, equipment managers, assistant to the GM, hot dog vendor, etc...

They are both completely weak attempts at adding value, but the Rip Girls (although not nearly "model" quality) at least have some precedence in the hobby.

I dont buy baseball cards to help satisfy my hormones. But then again the poll results dont suprise me seeing how many teenage boys we have on the boards.

Those were absolutely laughable. Here are the ones I pulled last year.
The biggest difference to me is that the Rip Girl auto DID NOT replace one of my guaranteed autos
while the BS Bowman Scout auto did. And it was damaged to boot :lol:

They could have at least brought back the MLB umpire autos like they did a few years ago. Even ESPN sportscaster autos or athletes in the Mitchell Report would be better than scout autos.

the bowman scout cards were throwins.. it did not replace your gauranteed auto. you were just shorted.
