$700 for a presell case of 2010 TC....and I even hit a Stras auto.

Simarlarly 2 cases at this price with NO Stras auto! Best pull was a Matusz red refractory auto...

All those packs and boxes during the 90s. I got back into cards in 1991, the summer before senior year of college, and really liked the 1991 Topps set. But when I discovered the highs of ripping Stadium Club, Leaf, and Ultra. I rode my bike to the card shop about every other day and dropped $20 (hey, I was raking in $7.25/hour at IBM that summer) at least each time. Talk about cardboard crack...Stadium Club was so beautiful, and I got so zooted on Leaf Gold inserts...I'm just glad I didn't have a car to go to out-of-town shops. Ripping pack after pack of 1991 UD and NEVER getting a Phil Plantier. Somehow I didn't realize that $1 packs were being searched for the $4 card, and just biting the bullet to buy the $4 card. Anyway, when I look at my monster boxes of complete sets and singles from that era, it's a bit of a bite. 1993 Leaf...1995 Circa...1992 Upper Deck...1993 Upper Deck...1993 Upper Deck...hundreds and hundreds of dollars down the drain. I finally got off the box-a-week habit around 1996. Not that I planned on reselling, but wow, that they held practically no value stings a little.

Most of what I buy is bad...

On Saturday, I bought a ticket stubb that was falsely advertised for the wrong game...

Most of the hobby wax I buy is terrible, which is ironic, because retail is usually better to me

My Glen Perkins collection. It isn't satisfying anymore, and I have seen just about all of it. I continue to pick up some singles that I need from time to time, and I will begin to slab it during the January BGS sub.

Really the only thing that did "pay off" was my Robert Meachem collection... I bought some PC stuff up while people were calling him a draft bust, but after he made that play in early December of last year, and the Saints won the SB, and I saw his stuff increased a bit... not selling though.

As a kid I spent $35 on a box of '91 Donruss. I had some luck earlier in the year with the product but that box was a dud.

ive never had a "bad" hobby box, but that might be cause ive only busted about 3 or 4

collecting j.r. towles will never see any return, and alot of these rookie cards of guys that only played a few games wont see any return, but i dont plan on selling it anyway. just collecting for fun.

I let somebody talk me into buying a few Trent Oeltjen uncirculated blue refractors when he was hot because they were selling for more on eBay than on the Pit. I'll never see that $30 again.
