Would a BGS 8.5 equal a PSA 9 X/10 times?

Basically, if you find a BGS 8.5 (BVG specifically) and resubmitted it to PSA, how often would you see it come back as a 9?

Subs are: 9.5C, 8Cor, 9E, 9S

I'm asking the experienced PSA grader guys.

how old is the flip?

It's 1975 Topps, which, being condition sensitive, makes me curious.

with an 8 sub, especially on corners, I wouldn't count on it. PSA is pretty rough on '75's.

Would be lucky to come back a PSA 8, most likley a PSA 7. PSA grades corners much harder than BGS.

Agreed. I've found BVG to be significantly easier on corners. Not sure how they were back when they had subgrades, though.

I bought a BGS 8.5 71 Clemente and had it reviewed by PSA for a straight 8 crossover, the grader came out and told me it would be lucky to get into a 7 holder due to its corners.

Thanks guys; that was exactly the kind of info I needed. I saw an 8.5 BVG for less than $200 that, if it regraded to a PSA 9, would be worth $375 easy.

A '75 PSA 9 is one of my last collecting goals. They routinely sell for $350. One day I will just save up and buy one, but I thought I had a line on a steal. Oh well, this board just saved me almost $150 or so (considering PSA 8's only fetch $75)

Yes, i agree its best to pass on it. the PSA 9 market for '75s is FIERCE!

Question (as ive not really followed the market for them)..... how have you found the centering on the PSA 8's that you've seen? i am in the market for fantasticly centered 8's of Brett and Yount
