just a general question, would you sell RARE cards in your collection to other collectors? and if so how do you price your rare cards when you are the only owner of the card/never sold on ebay. im obviously talking things that if you sold you would never see again.

I've done 2 cards I know I won't see and a few dozen I hope I can replace over time. Not sure I really regret it, the 2 I won't see I got prices that were hard to say no. The ones I can try to replace its something to "Redo" and I'm trying to replace at 33% or under what I sold em at.

Not unless a really bad emergency came up and even then, I'd rather let the television, ps3(and games), and anything else go that I can get money for before the cards. I can easily replace a television or gaming console. I can't easily replace all my cards. But if the time came to move some, I would sell cards that I could get back(not real low numbered) but that had a high sell value.

It's a hard decision, I didn't want to sell really, the offers were to good. If you can get an offer you won't regret, do it, if its borderline, pass

im not looking to sell them was the thing. he approaches me and then want's me to name a price. he may see this since he found me but i'm just trying to figure out what i should do. could i use the potential 1k sure but if i named a price i would literally say 1mil OBO. if you're interested in a card of mine that i haven't listed just be up front and name what your offer would be.

If he approached you, and wants your cards that aren't even for sale, he should be making an offer, not you. I wouldn't even take him seriously if he won't make you an offer.

That's where I was, he wanted me to sell the super in my master rainbow. The only way that ever leaves my collection is if the whole rainbow is sold. He declined, but this guy was featured as a Beckett supercollector from what he said.

If he is a supercollector, he should have the respect of knowing you have it as a PC as well as know that he should be the one to negotiate a price. If you are truly never thinking about selling then it is a no brainer, you either tell him "no" that it is not available, or you tell him it is PC that will only be parted with the rainbow and to offer away.

I told him the second option. And to be honest not one person would pay near what I would ask for on this. Based on the highest offer I received on the super alone. I'd have to ask at least 1000-1200 minimum.

In a heartbeat it would be gone.
I've sold a few for prices I could not pass up.
I took the three sales and turned them into two full game used jerseys and a locker plate.
It was a no brainer for me as my focus has moved from tiny patches to full GU.

Yes. I've always said that at a certain price, it is just a piece of cardboard to me.
