So imho Panini had the best setup out of any of the trading card companies at the national. We met Scott Prusha early on and did an interview with him live on the site.

Walking out of the exhibitor entrance I started walking with him and talking cards. He looked up and said that his signer was finally there. So I walked with him and talking to the signer. The entire time I was promoting panini and telling the signer what a great company that panini is. I assumed that he was an mma guy, but I was wrong.

Looks like I was talking with Blake Griffin the number 1, 2009 NBA draft pick for 10 minutes and I had no idea who he was.

I thank humblebob for indirectly pointing this out to me.

Guess I should have asked for an auto ::facepalm::

Sometimes it's the most obvious things that elude us. It's kind of funny in a cosmic sort of way.

I bet it made his day to have a normal conversation with someone without them asking for something.
Cool story.

I feel you John. On the last day as we were carrying things out to the car i walked right past Whitey Ford at the back door. He was just standing there and i knew i recognized him but by the time it dawned on me who he was he was already getting into an SUV and driving off.

Even though you should recognize Whitey, I can understand given his age and being out of the mainstream sports news. Griffin? As a Michigan guy, I think still I'll recognize him 20 years as the guy that was dunking all over my squad in the NCAAs.

Cool story.

That's how I've been with every famous person I've met. It might seem odd, but I don't want an autograph or anything. They are almost always shocked in a good way, and enjoy the conversation even more.

I'd be the same way with my favorite players. I've never met Granderson in person, but even if I did, I wouldn't ask for an auto. Not that it matters much. I have more than one person should have.
