Wow, blown away by a friend's incredible generosity

Today is my birthday, and earlier this week a friend let me know he had found something for my Brandon Webb collection and was going to send it my way. I asked him if he wanted to take a look at my have list first to make sure I didn't already have it, as I know a few others who collect Webb and would rather they have any extras rather than me hoarding doubles and triples. He said no, pretty sure you won't have this one. Turns out he was right.

Amazing way to start my birthday, absolutely awesome card and couldn't thank my friend enough. I wasn't sure I was ever going to add anything high end of Webb again seeing as the market is all but gone for him, so I just had to share my appreciation with everybody.

Very nice Triple patches! I don't usually buy cards with other players on it, so I think I'll let you keep those this time!
Interesting that they used the purple patch for one and the red for another, you think the same set would have the same jersey in it.

Haha thanks for the keep! I agree with the color of the patches...atleast its from his same team. I get more mad when I see something like Randy Johnson in a Mariners uniform on the card with the patch being red/purple :?

Agreed, and the picture of Webb there is small enough that its not too bad. But there is one set where there was a purple patch of Randy and it had a giant picture of him in the red uniforms. Drove me nuts.

That would be awesome. I can't believe in all this time I've never actually met Brandon. Not even for a quick autograph at the FanFest or something. Its kind of funny, I'm sure i've met dozens and dozens of other players, but not my favorite one. Hopefully one day!

And David, your generosity over the years has been more than enough! I've not even helped my own collection out lately, just not enough new stuff. Hopefully I can make this year a good one, I'm hoping to add a game used item (believe it or not, don't have that either) and maybe, hopefully, finally track down a Bat Barrel card. That is the only Webb card I do not own and have never even seen. There are probably half a dozen out there, you'd think one would have surfaced.

Sounds good David, just let me know and I'll see what I can do. I'd feel terrible taking one of your son's collection items. I mean if one of them really doesn't want one, I wouldn't say no haha.
