nice feedback of the winner

great card though

Yeah I noticed that, but the third bidder was still at $50 which is a lot for a second round DE. I will not be paying that much

How is there a book? This is the first to pop on ebay since the product came out?

OPG lists the card for 10 bucks
There are other forms of selling cards outside of ebay

Ok, but one would have appeared on ebay by now.

I think they just make numbers up... ;)

I really don't think they use ebay when making up their prices though, because you never see even the low values of cards reflect ebay prices, at least on many auctions I've won.

They often price cards that have no sales. Not many people notice it. There are three Twins cards that i've been looking for for about a year and have NEVER seen, yet they 'book' for $6-8.

I guess it is like Contenders OPG from last year that had Kenny Irons listed at $50 when they were going $250+ on ebay

Also, for cards that are never made (and countless ones that are), they are slapped with the tier price. Meaning the "unlisted commons" all have the same dollar value. That's why I never really trust prices from Beckett. I use it for trade values unwillingly, and only because many other people do.

In Madman's defense he is a Steelers fan so assuming Beckett is right would be something stupid he would do

A few points to make very clear
1st I do not require anyone standing in my Defense let alone you
2nd Anyone paying 6 times book IMO should have their head examined!
3rd Beckett Pricing is the baseline is only a starting point. Use it do use it I can care less what other collector place a values.

and as for the rest of your comment i will just ignore your envy!

Until there is a more proven source and/or method Beckett will remain a force in pricing and the hobby.
However I will agree Beckett is somewhat in the dark on real value as compared to Book Value. I use Beckett pricing for trading and a starting point in regards to selling.

If you can care less, why do you think they need their head examined? The card should not have had a book value since it was obviously in the last batch of cases shipped. If it takes a product to be on the market for like 3 months for a card /1199 to appear, then I am sure not many if any have surfaced.

It shouldn't. But if Beckett doesn't know the card doesn't exist, they'll just slap the tier price on to everything. Sometimes even if Beckett's told that a card doesn't exist, or that one does - they don't listen. Just how they choose to run their business I guess.

I am going to assume that you are completely being sarcastic with everything you said in this post. The reason being that if I dont assume the previous, my head may explode due to the fact that someone like you could still exist on this board.
