I get back from a great night out and I see my snipe did not go off on the Colvin superfractor.

It ended at $174.50 and I had my snipe set for $195. Would I have been paying too much at $195?

Im just surprised that it went this low. I believe it went for over $300 in April...

It's low. $200 is low. When he makes it and has a hot week his first week in the majors, that card will sell for over a grand.

Colvin is immensely undervalued. It's because he got off to a slow start and people are too stupid to wait through slumps. I bought up quite a bit of Colvin for next to nothing last month and the month before when his stuff was REALLY low. BGS 9.5 Chromes for a buck low.

Bold statement. That card will never sniff a grand. Colvin has been a major disappointment to date. Prospects who have disappointed are way cheap across the board.

Realistically he's a fourth outfielder. That's not saying you can't make money off him.

He's been in a "slump" for 2+ years.

Billy Rowell's 2006 Bowman Sterling Red Refractor auto 1/1 also recently sold for $175 which I thought was a good deal for the buyer who won it. It's amazing how far 2 of the most hyped prospects from the 2006 rookie crop have fallen.

Until they stop disappointing. And people notice that they've stopped disappointing.

But hey guys, I'm glad you think the way you do. I wouldn't make so much money if people were wiser than they are.

if you think you got a good deal, then who cares what the haters on the boards think. Hope you can flip it later for a nice profit.

The Rowell also was once graded like a BGS 6.5 or some awful low grade for some major surface issues. That also contributed to the low price.

Back in 06 the Colvin wouldn't even get $1000. Maybe $700 max. No doubt if he turns it around you could make some profit off of it but not $800 profit. Good luck. I hope it works out for you.

Call this a hunch, but I'm pretty sure PWJ wasn't being entirely serious.

i have an extremely low tolerance for prospect stupidity

Sorry Chris, but this is an oxymoron.

Prospecting= buying cards of players under the pretense that the player may, or may not succeed. Therefore, there is no way to be stupid about buying a prospect...are some guys obviously easier buys than others, but, some guys are surprises every year.

I had 2 Ryan Howard Bowman Best autos that I could not sell for $20 for a year.

I would say a superfractor of Colvin for under $200 is good. He may end up like Ryan Harvey though.
