So I was checkin' out COMC today and a couple of numbered Jay Buhner Autos caught my eye. I checked out the seller's other stuff and he had a Derek Jeter Crystal Ball Members Only for $6.99. I thought, damn, wouldn't a normal one go for more than that? So I looked on Ebay and, yeah, a normal one goes for a little more. Then I got preoccupied with the Buhners again and decided to pass - completely forgetting about the Jeter.

Now the Jeter is listed for $60 or $70. Eff.

It seems like sometimes those are the cards you can get the best deal on are cards that are not listed in Beckett and the seller isn't sure what price to put on it.

Someone bought it on COMC for $6.99 and relisted it for 10x that much.

Does that answer your question?

He won't get that much for it. There's a few buyers that I've dealt with on there who will buy the last card available, and then jack the price up to some ridiculous number, expecting the appearance of rarity will make someone blow too much money. The guy who bought my 2009 UD Gold Matt Kemp /99 for $7 immediately relisted it for $40, and that was months ago. You can only get some idiot to blow stupid money on a card like that if it's a fake patch, so it's just not happening.

BV on that Jeter is only $15 anyways. The Members parallels book for less than the pack inserts do.
