Back on the topic of the D-Backs..... has anyone ever been hurt by a ball going into that pool (or fans jumping in to retrieve a ball that went into the pool)?

Best quote:

"Diamondbacks president and CEO Derrick Hall said in a statement to the Arizona Republic, "I could call it disrespectful and classless, but they don't have a beautiful pool at their old park and must have really wanted to see what one was like." "

This quote is easily one of the worst slam attempts I have ever seen.

Wow. Interesting thread. Tons of mod edits and someone gets perma-banned for basically nothing. Fun place. Pretty certain this is one of the main reasons people left BMB, because it was never about members making barely off-topic posts.

The mod edits, interestingly enough, were requested by members on the forum.
You - in particular - seem to look for a lot of things that aren't there in order to build the drama a bit. Everything that's happened in this thread has been pretty thoroughly explained by myself. There's no mystery about anything that has happened.
Though, this thread has attempted to be routed back onto the topic. If you want to further this discussion, PM me or start a thread for it in the General Boards. Continuing to derail this thread with a vendetta of any measure will get the posts moved.

I don't understand what the big deal was, the Dbacks GM asked them to not go back out on the field after they were in the clubhouse. He didn't ask them not to celebrate on the field. Just don't come back out and celebrate. It doesn't make sense why but when you are a visitor in someone else's place........

lol Sorry that I stated my opinions. Already sick of the over-moderation. I'll just use other forums more since apparently you guys are dead-set on ruining this place.

*awaiting ban for speaking my mind*

When we start receiving post reports, what else are we supposed to do besides address them? Do you think we just casually sit in threads waiting for people? I don't need to ban you, but I will - kindly - ask you to go wherever you feel more welcome as you've expressed nothing but disdain for FCB.

That said, if you can't follow my request for helping to try to keep a thread on topic, I will hold your hand and do it for you.

Ha, I think that celebration was awesome. Well warranted. Winning the division means more this year than it has any other year because of the two WC spots. It just so happened that they didn't get to clinch at their home stadium.

I thought the D-Backs were childish with the way they handled the whole situation. Just tip your hat to the visiting team and let them celebrate. No need to police a team that has worked their tail off all year long to finally clinch the division. Like others have said, if they didn't want the Dodgers to celebrate on the field, well then they should have beat them. Simple as that.

Now Senator John McCain is commenting on Twitter, and the Dodgers' Brian Wilson zinged him right back:

From McCain:
"No-class act by a bunch of overpaid, immature, arrogant, spoiled brats! "The #Dodgers are idiots" — @SenJohnMcCain

Then Brian Wilson tweeted:

"Senator McComplain knows a thing or two about coming in second and watching someone take a plunge in the pool (I mean poll) #POoLITICS - @BrianWilson38

Lolololol couldn't agree more. This made me laugh

You know. For all of the talk about how strict the mods are - a few of you really should sit back and think about why things are getting tightened up. The TOS isn't a "please, follow these." They are a group of terms that you agree to.

People here aren't unjustly silenced as people tend to make it out.

Many mod edits you see are a direct result of complaints from board members. Members like you... SCT... PoseyBuster. Mods don't have the desire to babysit. If you think we're "harsh" - take a look at how mods are spoken to around here. Look at how much sarcasm and how many belligerent comments we get. It really has gotten to the point where people think that because mods have - historically - not said anything that we just don't care.

We care. We care about the people who have content to contribute beyond asking for freebies or telling us how bad FCB is. If FCB is so bad - I'm not forcing you to stay here. We care enough to spend some of our time - uncompensated - combing through random reported posts, spam accounts and trolling just so we can try to make this a place that not only welcomes the "big dogs" but also the new guys.

If that doesn't appeal to you - fine. Go ahead and head out.

One thing I want to say, though. I play the bad cop.. sure, I'll wear that. You know why I play the bad cop? Because I actually let people know when they're crossing the lines. I extend the courtesy of giving the public the transparency they say the staff doesn't provide. You know what I get for it? Being told how "harsh" I am. You can't have it both ways, people. If someone is breaking the TOS or unable to function in a socially acceptable manner, they're going to get reprimanded. You can have transparency or silence, but it is going to happen.

It just amazes me that the people who call us out the most are the ones that are still here... still here, because we don't punish people for their opinions. Really unfair, right?
Yet, they come back. They come back by choice. Every time - saying they're leaving. You want change? Be proactive. Contribute. FCB is the most welcoming community in the hobby, and, if you cannot see that, then I cannot help you.

This is all just MY personal opinion.

Only thing that would have made the dodgers celebration better is if they had Sidney ponson on the roster!

I love it.. It was fun and that's what ball is about!

now maybe we can see some energy from the snacks next year to do more than show up!
