I have no problem making these "customs" from base cards, but the sellers should call it a custom card. I realize the seller is being shady about the way he's selling the card, but the real blame goes to the buyer for not doing the proper homework before dropping that kind of jack.

Indeed... it really should be clearly labeled as a custom if you're going to sell it as such. If not, you're simply trying to defraud the customer.

I agree completely. If someone is dumb enough to think that this is an actual legit card then they deserve to have their money taken from them. It sucks that sellers do this but with buyers being as gullible as they are I almost don't blame them.

Probably too late to have it taken down but I've reported it as a counterfeit. Thats a lot of money not only for a fake but for a QB that will never win a playoff game :P

Hey...it took Peyton Manning 5 seasons to win his first playoff game. Romo only has 2 and some change. :P

I reported it as well (earlier today), but apparently nobody was in time to have it pulled.

An argument to that is people who know nothing about cards, or how they are forged, goes online to buy something for a friend or family member.

My mother a few years back picked up a 1/1 Jason Witten rookie for me off of ebay. It was a custom 1/1 card. Not a patch or anything, the guy just took a base Sage HIT card, and punched two stars in it and rounded off a corner.

I haven't told my mother it's fake since she gave it to me for Christmas, but I wince to think she got swindled trying to get me something nice.

The winning bidder has zero feedback so hopefully the buyer won't get paid.

If someone wished to make custom cards, I personally have no issue with them as long as they are clearly labeled. (...although I wonder how the card companies would feel about this)

I applaud them.

When the seller files a NPB, they need to put in the reply to ebay that it's a forged card.

If that is the case then it would serve him right. Maybe next time he tries to list this piece of crap more people will be able to report it and have it pulled.
