Since when do you have to be grounded to score a touchdown in the NFL? This is the third time in three weeks that I've seen this crap called. I always thought that if the ball crosses the plane of the endzone and the offensive player had control of it, that it was a touchdown! Now you have to be grounded and still maintain control? The first one was Louis Murphy for the Raiders in Week 1. He clearly caught a TD in the first half and it was called back. Now today, Mike Sims Walker catches one just now and they call it an incomplete pass. EDIT>> the officials just called it a TD saying that he had three feet down before the ball was slapped out. Whats next? Do they have to do a boxstep after making a catch?

The officiating sucks for whatever bull crap rule this is.

They are being as inconsistent as crap on that rule. I posted a complaint about that call a few minutes ago based on the dumb calls earlier....but, yeah - it was a good call if they hadn't ruined Murphy's catch earlier. First they say Murphy has no touchdown, yet now they give Sims Walker a touchdown on a similar play.

There have been a few rules changes this year regarding recieving..

Next year the players will have to land in the recliner and face the other endzone with a beer in their hand to have a complete pass... :D

I just don't understand it. I can understand if a runningback stretches a ball over the plane and his knees are back in the redzone but how can they justify a receiver not having a TD if BOTH feet touch down and he has control of the ball? And now Sims Walker has THREE feet down! Better call the Enquirer!

HAHAHAHA--Walker just made a catch and the announcers just joked that now you have to have 3 feet down to make a legal catch! Love it!

The Murphy non-catch messed up everything.
