To be fair, most people were favoring the Lakers going in to that series. The Celtics never really got the respect they deserved that year, and lost even more after going 7 in the first few rounds. Heck, the Celtics still aren't getting the praise they deserve. Look at where they are on the rank the top 5 teams thread on the basketball board. They will still have the big three, another year of development from Rondo and Perkins, and they added Rasheed and Daniels.

anyone with basketball knowledge would know celtics were a better team going into those finals, especially having ray allen who is the best 3 ball shooter in the league, paul pierce who at the time had one of the best mid range game and kg who overall was one of the best players in the league offensively and on deffense

Also, I don't buy the Boston = bandwagon fan city nonsense. Any teams that have success have that happen, and I guess it's not something I really understood until Boston became very successful. I mean, I used to say the same thing about the Cowboys, Lakers, Yankees, Bulls etc... Look at what happened to the Rays last season. There has been a drop off in Knicks fans the last few years, and they'll all be back with friends if the Knicks are ever good again.

I guess I just don't understand how that is an insult.

Well, I guess a lot of analysts have no basketball knowledge.

hmm... I guess I agree with your point and it validates what I said.

Chicago is the best sports town in the world regardless of championships. Cub, Bear, Bull, and Blackhawk fans are as genuine as can be. Suck it New York and Boston.

Me mentioning that the Celtics have nowhere near dominated this decade, the Lakers have. I hate both teams, by the way.

Winning 8 in a row this year is nothing compared to winning 4 in a row in 2004.

As a Yankees fan I must say touche man. That one cuts deep. It looks like to me it's going to be one hell of a chance to the finish line with the Yankees, Sox, and Rays. The 0-8 Yankees is a different team than the one that will face the Sox coming up. Bring it.

I had a crowd chanting Boston sucks at me at a Phish show on Long Island. I just started chanting back 2004 and the response was "oooooohhhh" and just "That's wrong man"

and you made it off Long Island with your life? WOW!

i dont understand what basketball and football has to do with this....but as you said yankees are the best team in baseball all time, just wanted to hear it from a redsox fan

What Basketball and Football have to do with this is all Boston fans are fans of all the sports, and you get the attitude, which really has only been around for 5 years now because in recent history this town has dominated all sports, not just one.

im done, no arguing with redsox fans especially considering half the board consists of redsox fans

which is as disgusting as it gets
