Did anyone notice how many empty seats there were too? Obviously it thinned out as the game got worse and worse, but I mean at the very beginning, first inning or so, most of the seats behind the plate were empty. I went on to the Yankees website to see if I could get tickets for the first Sox/Yanks series at the new stadium, and sure enough, they had a ton of tickets just a few rows from the field. The only catch is that they are $2625 per seat :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock:
The Steinbrenner's must be braindead with what they are charging for seats in this stadium, especially in this economy.

I was at the game on Friday and there were A LOT (80+) of seats that were empty near the visitors dugout. There was also an EMPTY section on the field level near 3rd base.

ESPN was basically voicing the complaint from the fans about the ever rising cost of a Yankee ticket. The whole argument from the Yankees perspective was supply vs. demand. ESPN was questioning if that was enough justification for such an increase. I think the statistic I heard was that ticket prices have increased 80% or 100% over the past 10-15 years (something like that).
