Face it. The guy is 37 years old. He batted .260 something with 11 home runs and 60 RBI (I'm just guessing, but I think it's pretty close to that). And one thing people don't mention, he's got a LOT of mileage on the odometer. Remember, he's played the equivalent of a full extra season or more with all the playoff games.

Sorry, I know he's the face of the franchise, but he's not 30 anymore. And $5 mil/year is still pushing it. You can find the same production for much cheaper

Of course I want to see them overpay and sign him to a huge contract, but it's a stupid baseball move

Jeter is part of the Yankees brand now. If they gave him 100 million for 3 years that is a steal for the yanks.


If it wasn't the yankees, ANY other team even the Red Sox, they would kick him to the curb with a 3 year 27 million contract.

They have some good prospects, so they will be getting younger.

Do they have good actual legit prospects or do they just get the hype because their in the Yanks organization?

There pitching prospects are legit. Romine is legit. Not sure about Montero, he may be hyped.

That was ugly. Throwing the ball around like a little league team. I don't know what the hell Young was thinking. He isn't playing 1b and there was no force play on. Move your butt off the bag to catch the ball. I know he has no lateral range left but at least attempt to shuffle your feet a few feet.

You guys are like family to me. And besides, I'm somewhat of a realist. I love my team but at the same time, when they are doing shat the wrong way, they deserve to be called out on it. They flat out SUCK right now and I just want to get this shat over with. But then again, I get to sit through a few months of constant rumors about what old ass player the yankees will sign to fix things. They will offer a salary to Lee that will probably be able to buy a handful of third world nations.....and then they'll probably go after Crawford. And thats not the way to fix it.

I mean, in the not so distant future, who will you DH? Jeter or ARod? Which one of these will you let on the field to play "defense" ? I can't see Jorge catching another year, and unfortunately that might be it for Andy; Tex and Cano are here for a few years, so are Gardner and Golson. So for the next 3 years we need: C, 3B, SS, LF, SPx2 if you count in CC, Hughes and Lee (if he doesn't stay in Texas, which I would understand)...

ARod is a helluva third baseman, so I wouldnt say they need a third baseman any time soon.
