It looks good on paper....but remember that they have to pitch in the AL East.jdacunha said:best bullpen in baseball?

Wilson is probably the craziest closer in the league, or maybe just a genius or a bit of both.

Did cashman ever really say that? I know he said Posada would NOT be the catcher and that Montero Romine and Cervelli would compete for the job. That's still true but they have to beat out martin too now.

This. He said Montero would have the opportunity to win the job in ST.
As for Soriano, I have mixed emotions about the signing. It definitely solidifies our bullpen and puts the Yankees into the top tier among the majors. Also, many people may not realize that after missing out on Cliff Lee (and most likely Andy Pettitte), the Yankees had over 30 million left in the budget to spend. Why not go ahead and get the best still available on the market? I do feel 12m is a bit high, but if Soriano can go ahead and put up similar numbers to last year it would really big a huge boost to our team.

Or if he gets back on the juice!!! No shot of him going back to the rotation.vwnut13 said:I'd rather have a dominate closer as a setup man for $12m than a mediocre closer for $12m.
I'm hoping that Joba has been working in the offseason. I assume he will got to ST preparing for a starting pitching role. If he fixes whatever he has been holding back he will be ok.
Once the Yankees started messing with his pitchcounts things got really bad. If you want to see what I mean, look HERE
He had very respectible numbers going into August, then they held him at 50 pitches a game. hmmm. Joba's last great start came 6/29/09 against the Rays, a three hitter with no ER.
I also find it weird that Joba just lost 5 mph off his fastball, he must he holding back for some reason. Hopefully a new pitching coach will help and he can pitch like he did in 2009 before the pitch count.
