This is the very first one of these I've ever seen anywhere - either on eBay, or on the box break boards. Brian has confirmed that it's shortprinted, but won't tell me specifics. It isn't even priced in Beckett.

So are you saying there are less of them than the card is serial numbered to?

That is exactly what he said and that it was confirmed by the owner of the company that produced the card. Not sure how you are confused.

Then why the frack would it be #'d to 199 ?

How did that card fly under everyone's radar? Sold for twenty-something bucks? And we all missed it? ::facepalm::

Maybe I need to start my razor searches up again, after metal I pretty much dropped the letterman/sig series stuff.

Some or most of them could have been severely damaged.

I asked Brian why it's so shortprinted and he just replied and confirmed that many were in fact damaged.

Why? Because there is a serial number on it. Normally when a card is short printed there isn't a serial number on it.

Did you ever think that maybe they were printed for Hosmer to sign, and he didn't sign them all for some reason? Thus, they inserted what they got back and later on would/might state the actual run, or state it is indeed an SP.

I mean, this isn't hard stuff here folks. We have seen cases of this from Topps, UD, and Donruss.

I realize this is a Razor thread, but I don't understand why everyone is being so snappy? I asked for clarification to what Jaypers said. I'd expect that type of response i got from Adam because of who he is but I don't need it from anyone else.

Because of who I am??? do tell.

You didn't ask for clarification. You asked, "So are you saying there are less of them than the card is serial numbered to?"

Which is exactly what Jaypers said and informed us that is was confirmed by the company. I wasn't being pro-Razor, I was being anti-stupid.

I agree, it's pretty clear why there would be confusion when a card that is #'d out of 199 would for some reason be termed "short-printed" - it defies logic. One would think, and rightfully so, that the numbering implies the print run, but when that suddenly isn't the case and the actual run becomes "short-printed" and seemingly now incalculable, it's easy to understand why people might have a problem with this...
