Besides, just because someone didn't fully understand and needed to ask a question,
what reason is there for all the venom around here this week?

It's par for the course on Razor threads around here.

There isn't/wasn't any venom or negativity in this thread and the fact that this is a Razor card makes no difference.

You simply asked "are there less of these" after Japers said, "These are short prints(there are less of them)."

You probably walk by people changing their tire and ask "did you have a flat."

This is the very first one of these I've ever seen anywhere - either on eBay, or on the box break boards. Brian has confirmed that it's shortprinted, but won't tell me specifics. It isn't even priced in Beckett.

So are you saying there are less of them than the card is serial numbered to?

That is exactly what he said and that it was confirmed by the owner of the company that produced the card. Not sure how you are confused.

What did Upper Deck say about it, specifically?

Nice ;)

Given your fanboy nature, I think it has everything to do with your childish behavior in this and every other Razor thread.

Actually, I just hate the MLBPA and the RC monopoly. But, I love Razor now that it has been confirmed that they were a hidden player.

Also, I've never been childish....only bored.

I rarely post anymore, so sadly, this "we expect this from you" schtick is old, only deals with past behavior in Razor threads, and wreaks of grudge holding.

The only other card that is SP'd from this product, that I know of, is the Brett Lawrie "Exclusives" Insert Autograph (not serial #d).

I agree, it's pretty clear why there would be confusion when a card that is #'d out of 199 would for some reason be termed "short-printed" - it defies logic. One would think, and rightfully so, that the numbering implies the print run, but when that suddenly isn't the case and the actual run becomes "short-printed" and seemingly now incalculable, it's easy to understand why people might have a problem with this...

not that i really care about the card, however this is a very well thought out and helpful response. and for that, you were thanked!

Aw, thanks buddy! :grouphug:

Getting back on topic, to sum up, I think the big elephant in the room is the fact that a serial #'d card can be shortprinted more than its serial #ing.

I feel as if we're dealing with two separate beasts - (1) "serial #'d" cards, which by definition specify a print run, and (2) "short-printed" cards, which are more of a faith-based reconciliation specified by the manufacturer. This is the first time, at least to my knowledge, that both entities have merged into one, i.e. serial #ing has essentially become meaningless, as it really specifies nothing about the actual print run. In my opinion, it leads one to question the manufacturer's credibility, for better or for worse.

Did you put on your flame-proof suit before posting this

I couldn't help it.

I'd just like to say that I love all of you and also to point out I did not start and in anyway play a part in starting this thread. :D

This problem is fairly common with all card companies that have hard-signed cards in products. The cards are serial numbered before they are sent to the player, so if something goes wrong then the cards are shorter than their numbering.
