...if they keep shooting themselves in the foot the way they have. On the heels of this Saturday's search problems, they just sent out the following message through eBay:

====================
eBay Sellers:

A few of you may recently have received a note from eBay in your My Messages inbox with the subject line: "50% OFF Auction-style Insertion Fees--Nov 23-25." Unfortunately, this message was sent in error: There was a promotion planned for this coming week that was cancelled. There are currently no plans for a 50% off Insertion Fee Promotion on the dates mentioned in the prior email. Please note that any listings created during these dates will be subject to normal Insertion Fees.

We apologize for any confusion that this may have caused.
====================

With the holiday shopping season approaching, this is not the time for these problems to be occurring.

They must be offering this special to select sellers. I received the email with the offer and I am getting 50% off my listings. Don't know why they re-niged on yours? Sorry to hear that.

What's even better is I scheduled a few items to start this evening and the 50% off price was shown. Now I received the email saying this was an error. I wonder what price I will get hit with from eBay ::facepalm::

aren't insertion fees like $0.70? what's the big deal? now if we were talking FVF's it'd be another issue..

Well if you list 100 items that turns into 70.00,so I guess it really affects the power sellers.

I hadn't gotten the 50% off listing email, so I hadn't been planning on listing anything special, but if I had and done a bunch of prep work for listings, I'd be mighty ticked off.
