I would add the DH to the national league.

I wholeheartedly agree...make NL pitchers face another real batter at least 3 times a game and get rid of the pitchers hitting...so boring. This will help the game become more entertaining. Also please eliminate all of the batters who take 20-30 seconds between each pitch to rearrange their batting gloves, helmet etc...same goes for pitchers, when your on the mound get ready to pitch (watch Mark Buerle for an example on what to do).

Yes, because strategy in baseball is terrible.

I am so glad I didn't grow up in an AL market.

Might be hard to draft players from Cuba, Venezuela, china and certain South American countries due to travel bans to the US. Most have to defect and claim asylum to play in the US when they get here.

Sell me your Jay Bruce cards!

Kinda like how it's hard to draft NBA kids out of HS?

Because you can't.

Once the kid becomes draft eligible, he can be drafted. It would be no different in MLB.

I like some of the ideas here.

Strike Zone: I like the return to knees to letters idea. I'm tired of the belt being considered "high".
Pitch Clock (aka, the Josh Beckett rule): 15 or seconds and keep it strict. Somehow you may have to get throws to first involved in this
Blocking the Plate: Based on recent events in the Sox/Giants game, need to give the catcher some leeway in terms of how close the runner is.
Allstar Game: I'm fine with the outcome determining home field if you also allow the best players in, not requiring each team to be represented
MLB License: Eliminate Topps exclusivity, for the love of all that is holy.
Salary FLOOR: Cap? I want teams to have to spend the money they get from revenue sharing. The Royals have been owned by one of the richest men in the world yet continue to bank the revenue checks. Yanks spend because they make the money. They pay into the luxury and sharing yet there is nothing that really dictates how those receiving teams use the money. How about those Marlins screwing the fans after Loria screwed the Expos? Fix that please.
Draft pick trading: How come football and basketball make that work? Allow teams to trade more than that compensation pick (another whack rule with random results, btw) and you'll see some interesting occurances. Yes, NFL and NBA drafts bring players direct to the league whereas baseball takes years from the draft, but that would make it that much more interesting and would likely quickly balance bottom teams that could stock up on picks. It would also have the effect of eliminating free agent compensation picks which the players' union would love.

But the travel issue is still there. Luis Aparicio cant even leave Venezuela to come to the US to sign autographs at a card show due to the Venezuelan govt ban on travel here. He cant even go to Canada first then come to the US. If he does, he cant go back and his family will be jailed. No one from the US is allowed into Venezuela right now. Just restrictions like these that would make it hard to be a full international draft. If these restriction were not in place, Im all for it.

Burn Angel Hernandez alive on a mound of an MLB park.

Fire Jim Joyce and give that poor kid his historical moment.

Ban Pete Rose super-permanently.

More water slides at ballparks.

Let Pete in. Vincent screwed that up as Giamatti was going to reinstate him the next year but had a massive heart attack.
If you keep the catcher rule, make a box for them to stay in while awaiting the ball. Something like the top of the batters box in front of the plate? Harold Reynolds was talking about this last night.
Keep the replay and the staff (in NY) should be looking at all the plays as they happen and anticipate them being challenged. That should help speed up the process.
Home field advantage in the World Series should go to the team with the best record. They earned it.

Ditch the ASG World Series implications.

Add more interleague games and whichever team has the best interleague record between the two gets home field advantage.

If it's a tie, then the ASG is the tie breaker.

If the ASG ends in a tie, the two general managers arm wrestle for home field.

If somehow that's botched, whichever teams town has the best BBQ that's who gets home field.

If THAT is a tie, the World Series is off that year. Because who wants to play baseball in a town that has **** BBQ!?

I don't really mind the DH being there, but to have separate rules for separate leagues is just stupid IMO.

Limit Inter-league to four series over two straight weeks. End the rule that has the ASG determining Home field advantage in the WS, back to best record. Kill off the "play-in" WC game. Harsher PED penalties.

In other words, un-do most of Bud's recent decisions!

You know initially I thought it was a bad idea BUT the outcome of it is teams are making a bigger push to win the division. You think the Angels want to deal with that sudden death game with their record? Plus it gives the next best teams a shot to get in and blow it for someone else. Plus it's just ONE game. Best thing Bud did.

PED penalties I agree on too. First offense gets a year, second = gone. Gotta make it so unpleasant that it wipes it out. Another idea I had on that is PED use = team is banned from post season. What team would want to give a 7- or 8-figure contract to those guys? No more Melky or Cruz getting millions after bans. It sickens me when I see that. EDIT: Or limit the contracts these players can get to league minimum for at least 5 years. You need the deterrent to be effective.
