Another sub-par showing from a former Pride fighter in the UFC. Very disappointing.

Look at when these guys come to the UFC though.
They fought a lot over in Japan, sometimes 4-6 times a year and some of them were wars. You dont think Nog is somewhat washed after battles with Fedor, CC, Barnett, and being thrown around by Sapp for 8.5 minutes?

Regarding Gomi, it was pretty evident last year that when hes decisioning a KOTC journeyman, hes probably finished as a top 5-10 fighter.

It kid of bothers me that some fans are all up in arms about who had the better fighters. Pride closed a LONG time ago, and when a Pride fighter's just now coming the UFC, of course he's not going to be as good as he was then. In most cases. They fought freaking BATTLES over there, and it's taken a huge toll on their body. Just look at Cro Cop, Big Nog and Wanderlei. Their poor showings in the UFC isn't indicative of them being bad fighters, just being at the latter stages of their careers.

So when people say that this is just another example of UFC being better than Pride, that's just dumb.

I'm not saying UFC or Pride was better, I'm just saying it's a stupid statement to make.

I'm not saying one is better than the other. These fighters came/come from pride and are hyped up beyond belief then 80% of them get destroyed. The fact that most of them were roided out of their mind in Pride isn't helping either. I said I was disappointed in Gomi's showing. Was anyone not disappointed by that?

I was EXTREMELY disappointed in his performance.

I was hoping for an all out slug fest, not a complete one sided beat down.

And I think you're spot on about the roids thing. I'm not saying ALL PFC fighters juiced, but I am sure Wanderlei did, wouldn't be surprised if Mirko did, not so sure about Fedor or Big Nog though.

I agree Sam I don't think those guys did either and look at them. They've had huge success outside of Pride. I'm talking about guys like Sukojudo (Spelling). They were absolutely ripped and shredded in Pride and were absolute aminals. They come to UFC in shape but a lot less shredded and get their asses handed to them. About Wandy, that GIF you had in your sig is all the proof you need for him roiding. I don't care though I still have a man crush on him.

I know it's terrible to say probably, but I don't care either. It's obvious that Wand juiced in Pride, to me anyway, and I just don't care.

PED's have never been a big deal to me, and they never will be. And I know that's probably not the right thing to say, but it's how I feel.

I'm just a spectator. I want to see great athletes perform doing great things. And PED's have made that viewing much more pleasurable in many instances over the years. And after the fact finding out the athletes were on PED's has never in one instance taken away anything from any of the moments for me. People will play the unfair advantage card all day long, and I will NEVER say they are wrong, because I know I am not right.....probably, but it's just how I feel.

I'll never give any athlete Hell for having juiced, not even athletes I hate. If Jeff Weaver was caught, I would laugh, say he is a ******* (for getting caught), and that would be the extent of it. And I would never bring it up all the time calling him a juicer every time his name is brought up like people do with McGwire and ARod and Bonds.

Sure, I make fun of Josh Barnett, but not BECAUSE he juiced, just because it's hilarious he's been caught so many times you'd think he'd learn his lesson. But I've never made fun of Sherk or anyone else because of it. It's hard not to poke fun at Josh, but I don't bash him.
