I was thinking about it today while at work and can't remember how I heard about ebay or what the first item was I bought. Anyone remember their first purchase be it a card or anything else?

I don't remember quite how I heard about eBay, but if I remember correctly my first purchase was a pad controller for Dance Dance Revolution. I want to say that was maybe 7 or 8 years ago.

What's funny is that eBay sent me a five year anniversary card a few years ago, that was weird.

I think it's funny when they send you a message congratulating you on your upgraded star.

my first win cost me 41. I had about 3 minutes to try out bidding some one and i had forgot my password. Managed to get it emailed to me and logged into ebay fast enough to win it.

I always thought the same thing! Like the "star" is really supposed to mean something! WOW, I went from Red to Green to Purple to Blue to SHOOTING STAR!! WOW!

I heard about Ebay from a friend shortly after I got to my permanent duty station at Ft. Riley, Ks in 2000. I used it to slowly build up my Griffey collection. Don't recall exactly what card it was, but I'm pretty sure it was another 1989 UD RC....

I thought ebay was dumb because i had to bid against other people and wait so many days just to see if you would win the card or not

I think my first auction won was a Troy Aikman rookie. I could be wrong, but it's the first I still remember. I used my mom's account because at the time I was still a young teen.

After being out of the hobby for 10+ years,I was excited to see an autographed card of my all time favorite player.
