Who were some guys that you, as a child, saw as absolute can't miss HOFers?

Some of mine from back in the day:

- Will Clark
- Matt Williams
- Greg Jefferies
- Kevin Mitchell

I swore as a six year old that Gooden would be in Cooperstown.

Dwight Gooden has to be added to the list. Imagine if Strasburg had pitched in New York for a dominant team and put up 24 wins and a sub-2 ERA in his second year after winning ROY.

Me

or anyone on the 2002 Minnesota Twins, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Jeff Bagwell, Jose Canseco, Richie Sexson, Bobby Higginson, and the rest of the Backyard Baseball 2001 crew (a game in which I still enjoy from time to time).

How about Pete Rose? Talk about a true surefire HOFer. Dale Murphy also seemed sure-fire during the mid 1980s.

Dale Murphy is a good one.

Another for me was Ray Knight.
