Tie between 90 Leaf and 89 Topps. I remember ripping 89 Topps on my way to Plant City to see Bo Jackson for ST.

I'll just stick with the base set on this one. Mine would have to be the 1993 UD SP set. I loved that set and will forever remember that Ray McDavid card I needed for about a month to finish it.

Also, there is something cool about the 1991 Topps Baseball Desert Shield sets.
very cool. still haven't pulled the trigger on a Dawson yet for some dumb reason.

I have a bunch of PSA graded Desert Shield cards. I was thinking of starting a set so I bought 140ish of them. Decided not to afterward. Just too expensive. I'll see if I have a Dawson.

EDIT: Nope, no Dawson.

Both the Nolan Ryan cards are in my collection and two of my favorites.

For base sets, I loved the design and execution of 2003 Fleer Avant and 1999 UD Ovation. And both are nicer in person... Avant has the layered materials with different textures, and Ovation's foil doesn't scan well plus raised stitches are cool.

2001 Topps Tribute Retired Jersey edition. I dig the base set and it's one of the few that I have in a binder. I'm not a big GU card guy, but I'm slowly building the set. Love them.

In my opinion the 1999 Fleer Tradition set is one of the most underrated sets of all time. It has outstanding full bleed photography and a simple foil design that lets the great photos take center stage.

Beautiful card. Those things look so nice in PSA slabs. I'd really like to go after an entire set like that, they are just so expensive.
