Same card as the last two years.

Hanley Ramirez 2003 Topps Traded Chrome UNC X-Fractor #/25

This one isn't even about affordability, it's that I have NEVER even seen one. It's the only non 1/1 Hanley rookie card that I need a copy of. I had given up hope that it existed, but not too long ago a couple members said that they have seen one in the past.

Here's my call to all FCB members to please keep an eye out for this card. I'm sure there is a copy on some card shop shelf that has been there for years, or maybe you know someone with a copy. Please help me find this card!

Im pretty sure ive seen em on eBay.

I remember pulling some of the other guys when I busted the boxes, so I know they do exist.

I dont remember what the price was exactly, but let me say, In hand, they look amazing!

I've seen others from the set but unless there was a VERY short lived BIN or terrible title there hasn't been a Hanley on ebay in years. I search 2-3 times a day for new Hanley items, but haven't found this card. I have a feeling that if it does exist then there is one collector that is hoarding a bunch of them. The rest are probably in personal collections or still in boxes.

I don't know your finances, but that's a +/- $40,000 card, if you can find it (there are 3). If you can swing it, more power to you.
i have heard that a guy offered the owner of that card $30k, but the owner turned it down. i understand that the 500 hr club bat cards are highly collected, but i do not see that being a realistic price. that may have been a real price back when the product was new, but there have since been multiple ruth's made, so i would imagine $15,000 would be the high-end of the spectrum. i have been wrong before (and i am not trying to be rude to you), and will have no problem admitting that i am wrong in this case if i see a confirmed sale.

the reason i prefer G.H. Ruth over Babe Ruth is exactly as stated by shep. there are several "babe" cuts out there that have been said to have been signed by his nurse or a clubhouse guy. i doubt that anyone forging the babe's sig would waste the time signing anything with G.H., but i may be wrong.

I remember there being a big Hanley collector on BMB, and I think he is here too.

I forgot his name, but if you find out, maybe give him a shot and see if he has any he is willing to part with!

I'll keep my eyes open too if I run across any!

I was over on BMB and was a big Hanley collector then, but didn't really post too much until I came here. You may or may not be thinking of me. There was another guy that I bought most of my Hanley rookies from, but I don't remember him having one of the x-fractors.

I really only post on this board so I don't know who else is out there for big time Hanley collectors, but if anyone knows any I could contact I'd be interested to find out who they are. I'd be at least somewhat satisfied to see a picture of one to know that it definitely exists. Knowing my luck Wossa or some other big name collector has all 25 locked away for good.

Re: Hanley Collector from BMB

I have some old emails from him and his address is/was [email protected]. I seem to remember him having all of Hanley's 2003 issues except the Heritage 1/1 and some 206 parallels. Worth a shot if the email still works.

Just curious if you would prefer a sig GHRUTH or BABE RUTH? and why?

I am not trying to answer for Rob, but I would want a GH Ruth(not that i wouldnt take a Babe Ruth one), but when Ruth did sign he used the GH Ruth sig. I understand official documents (checks) being signed GH RUTH, but would think that most that he signed for fans would have been Babe Ruth....just a thought.
I almost bought a GH RUth sig when the bingbucks was 16%, but then thought maybe i would prefer a Babe Ruth sig, and so I didn't buy it. Not sure if one is more desired over the other by hobbyists.

mike-i agree, i would imagine that ruth always signed "babe" for fans, but i would also imagine that his nurse and the clubhouse guys signed "babe" for him as well. it is highly unlikely that these people would sign anything "g.h." which is why i feel a greater majority of those would be real. as we all know, authenticators and card companies can be wrong sometimes and put a fake aauto out on a card. i also understand if i am the minority in this thinking

Damned be the sticker on that beauty. ^

I really want one of the Rox superfractors from '09 Draft or Connor Graham's superfractor from this year's Bowman Chrome - finish off my rainbow.

Yea, I hate sticker autos!! But it's still a beaut and I would be giddy beyond belief to have that as the centerpiece of my fledgling player collection :D :D
