For what it's worth, years ago I bought a game used Batavia Mudcats season worn jersy from Batavia of Chase Utley. It was $50-75, before Utley was anybody. He wore two jerseys - one home, one away -- all season. He signed it for me at spring training. It was, I think, the only IP auto I've ever sold. Anyway, I sold it on eBay about 2 years ago for about $1300 with all proper documentation.

So, if Utley got $1300 for his first year ever jersey that he wore all season, Ziegler ain't worth much.

I sold a 1/1 refractor to a players dad, who bought it for his son (who was away with the team at the time). He asked me to keep an eye out for tough to find cards of his son, so I did and low and behold, about 3 weeks later, I found and bought a 1/1 plate card of his son at a show. His father asked me how much I wanted for it. Instead of asking for money, I asked for an auto'd game used bat. I was told, sure, no problem. I sent the card out to him and never heard back from him again, despite several emails over the span of about 1 year (i'd check in every couple of months or so).

Not to say anything bad about Brad, but just get paid or get the item before you send the card!

Come on now... you know if I wanted to say who, I would have put the name in the post and not called it "players dad". :)

I would disclose it - wouldn't want someone else to fall victim to this guy's dad.

How do you know it was his dad (& not someone claiming to be his dad)?

damn, we are up to 20 emails back and forth with him trying to get me in on the jersey deal.
he is one hell of a salesman !!

Just tell him that you "will" take the jersey but "he" has to go to his church & have it auctioned off for $1800 (or whatever the amount he is quoting) then send you $600 through Paypal from the proceeds, (the kicker is you will even donate the $1200 that was left from the Jersey auction to his church) & you'll send him the card after you get the $600 he made off the Jrsy auction!!! Sounds like a damn good plan, pass it on to him! :D

I doubt the church would like it, they would be expecting 1800 only to get 1200 which would be bizzare.

 I was being sarcastic.... But seriously, if he is trying to pass along something that he has no problem of getting (& getting basically as many as he wants) as an $1800 item then he's trying to take Boomo for a ride or he's got a huge ego... Either way, I'd take the cash only (if he wanted to give you a shirt that he wore in a game & then scribbled his name on, & then evaluate that as anything more than an act of kindness; I'd let him keep it)!
