Thanks to Bill Menard I added three great inserts to the Titans collection. I don't have any scans yet, but I will get those up next Thursday.

1999 Contenders SSD Speed Red Eddie George
1999 Contenders SSD Season Ticket Blue Eddie George

Both have a great "refractor-like" finish. Aside from my autographs and rookies these are two of my favorite George cards.

He also sent a 2006 Finest Drew Bennett Gold Refractor /49. Thanks Bill!

Got this rare one:

1996 Finest Bronze refractor Steve McNair BV $40

And these from Bill Menard. They have a very refractor-type appearance and are two of the best-looking FB cards I have.

It's been interesting to browse this thread, as I wasn't collecting during most of these times. I can't help but wonder how it would go over if card companies released sets that look like this today. At the very least it would be better than another mediocre retro set.

Ooo, I'll play. Not sure how I missed this the first time around. Not sure of values, but I just like their look. More to come later.

Here are some 1990's favorites:

902.jpg

Top 3:
1. 1997 Score Hobby Reserve Collection (has fuzzlike starburst in background...people often mistake the base "Hobbyt Reserve" as the parallel "Reserve Collection." This 1:11 pack parallel is one of the toughest sets to complete - a virtual impossibility!

2. 1997 Crown Royale Pro Bowl Die Cuts <<< that's called innovation!

3. 1997 ex2000 Essential Credentials (#/100) - the holographic starburst border is a real eye catcher

Middle 3:

4. 1998 Pacific Aurora Championship Fever Copper (Bronze) Parallel (#/30) - Impossible to find!

5. Since I've never seen a SOLID GOLD verison, here's the next best coin available: From 1997 Pinnacle Mint Solid Silver Coin

6. Topps Gold Label Red Label Parallels (#/100, #/50 and #/25). Although the fronts were confusing to identify which was which, these serial numbered Reds are still in demand

Bottom 3:

7. 1998 Playoff Contenders EXCHANGE redemptions...seldom seen or offered! The Ticket set are the hardest to find as only 8 sets were turned in for stamping.

8. 1998 Playoff Honors Shields were da Bomb until the concept was oversaturated with the 1999 Honors Shields - done in 3 parallels Red (#/200), Silver (#/100) and Gold (#/25). This one is from 1999.

9. 1998 Fller Brillants 24KT Gold Parallel (#/24) - another fun low #d card to chase a decade ago!

Enjoy

For Parallel Sets, these two were fun to chase and complete:

1996 Select Ceftified
Top Row: Base, Red, Blue
Middle Row: Premium Base, Mirror Red (estimated at 90 print run), Mirror Blue (60 print run)
Bottom Row: Artist Proof 1 of 500, Mirror Gold (35 print run), Premium Red Mirror (20 print run)

1996certified.jpg

1997 Contenders Die Cut Pennants Base and Blue Foil Border Parallels - each card had six different felt colors: Red, Orange, Black, Blue, Green and Purple.

Enjoy!
