As much as I'd like to see this happen, I sincerely doubt he'll be #1.

His unorthodox workout and delivery seem to be detractors to some teams.

His unorthodox workout and delivery seem to be detractors to some teams.

Bauer designed his own workouts, four of them. He plays Hacky Sack with baseballs and does a hop-skip-and-jump power throw on his first warmup pitch before each inning. He and his dad once soaked baseballs in water because "we heard that Cuban kids threw coconuts to build arm strength."

Bauer trains on his own, alternating four workouts. One day he will snake his way around cones working on agility, the next he might flip 200-pound tires to build strength. He throws medicine balls, weighted softballs and uses a chin-up ring—all designed to maximize explosiveness.

Pirates, Diamondbacks, and Mariners have said Lincy's workout at Washington and his success in the Majors have changed how teams view independent workouts. Even at some point, Lincy had to adapt and make some changes in the Minors. He's not the same pitcher he was in college. Bauer reminds me of Oswalt but throws more across his body. A website wrote to Dr. Marshall to look at his forearm bounce and Marshall said he does not have one but does take the ball out of his glove with his hand under the ball which is a huge no no in affiliated baseball. Marshall said he is surprised he was allowed to pitch like this in college.

Because you've read three websites that say he could be the first pick you say it's likely to be him?

The GM would get crucified in passing up on generational talents in Bundy, Rendon, and Cole.

Bauer going number one has about as much chance of happening as the MLB.com does at predicting any draft or list correctly. Virtually no chance.

I wouldn't say virtually no chance, but it's unlikely. The convcentional thinking of baseball scouting aims more towards Cole (size, FB) and Rendon (power for position, bat).

And to the person who said that Bauer is like Oswalt, because he "throws across his body", is way off. He is just about as close to Lincecum in terms of delivery as you can get. Sonny Gray is much more like an Oswalt, in terms of stuff, size, and ability.

There is no such thing as a "generational" talent in baseball. Every player has equals during their careers, let alone entire generations. It's wild hyperbole and counter intuitive to name three players in the same draft as "generational."

yup, and everything you've show he's a mirror of Lincecum, with less turn of the shoulders during his leg loading phase. I don't see anything like Oswalt there.

Also, it's best to show Linecum video from college, rather than a polished and "tinkered with" delivery in MLB.

Generational talents? I'm crying from laughing so hard.

Bryce Harper is a generational talent. These guys? Nope. Chance to be stars or superstars? Yup. Generational talent? Nope.

Michael Jordan was a generational talent.

Wayne Gretzky was a generational talent.

Tiger Woods.

Get it?
