Figured I'd do a little write up on our trip to the Mets game last Sunday. Last year my wife got me tickets to a Mets game for my first Father's Day, and then we decided to make it a tradition, so this was our second annual Father's Day Mets game. Instead of actually going on Father's Day we decided to just pick what seems like a fun game with a good giveaway. Since I'm a bobble head collector, last year we went to Juan Lagares gold glove bobble head day which I talked about last year, and this year was Mike Piazza bobblehead day (for Mike Piazza weekend, retiring his number and celebrating his induction into the HOF).
We left the house around 9, and got to CitiField around 11, so by the time we parked and walked over the gates were just opening. Since it was bobblehead day the lines were huge, but they moved quick. Once we got patted down and bag checked we were in...to the massive confusion known as the line (and I use line loosely) for the bobbleheads...but finally...
Success! My wife got one and I did also, one of which we will be trading to our friends who are going to this months Matt Harvey bobblehead day.
We had some time to kill before game time so we decided to do some shopping and picked up a Yearbook, some commemorative Piazza Mets magazines..
And a few pins
We also stopped by the game used shop and picked up the $40 grab bag, which I already posted about and will edit the link back in after.

We still had some time to waste, plus it was still pouring outside (thankfully it want raining as hard when we were waiting in line to get in) so we decided to hit up the Mets Hall of Fame and check out Mike Piazza's HOF plaque, wonder what Cooperstown visitors were seeing when it was at CitiField?
First was his jersey from the post 9/11 homer game...a bunch of other Mets HOF stuff and then there it was...
Mike's HOF plaque!
We finished in the Mets HOF and they announced the game would start at 1:45 instead of the original 1:15, so we decided to grab some grub before we hit our seats. They have kids meals for $7 so we decided to grab two of those, one for my wife and one for my son, it came with a hot dog, bag of popcorn, small bottle of water or juice and a prize, why not! I got those and they ate while I decided to go find food for myself..oh and that prize for the kids meal?
...wait, what's that say?! Let's close up...
Awesome kids meal prize Mets! Thanks! My 1 and a half year old will get a ton of use out of that! At least we got him something cool at the store earlier...
After we all ate it was time to go find our seats...all the way up, haha (oh yeah, the food line took longer than the line to get in...ugh)
We got to our seats, took a family pic
And saw the nice Piazza tribute in centerfield
Syndergaard wasn't on his game...maybe cuz he was watching from the stands...
Hah! But the Mets scored early on Walkers triple, but Cabrera got hurt rounding the bases and had to come out, and eventually got DL'ed. It was a back and forth game until the 7th with the Mets down 4-3. Boone Logan came into pitch, which gave me a good photo op for my son Logan...
Nothing like having your name up in lights, kinda, haha. Then Neil Walker hit a go ahead 3 run homer which put the Mets up 6-4 which ended up being the final score, and brought up the Apple, which was also decorated for Piazza
Familia came on in the 9th and shut the Rockies down and...
It was a family Sunday, so kids were supposed to be able to run the bases after the game, but because of the rain before the game and the more that was supposed to come after...
That was our only out of the day, so with Piazza bobble, no rain during the game and a Mets win, I'm ok going 3-4!
Plus my son and I looked super cool in our matching like father like son Mets shirts!
Haha, I know this post has been super long, so I'll wrap it up here with an awesome looking panorama I took during the game, thanks for reading!
