With some Bowman Chrome autographed rookie cards selling for $100 at release every year, I thought we could take a look at the guys that are already in the Hall of Fame. With your help, I'd like to generate a list of HOF RCs that can be had for around $100 or less. I would like to keep the majority of the list for Near Mint (PSA 7, SGC 84) quality or higher, but exceptions can be made for some vintage (especially rare high numbers from Topps) cards.

Please include a link to either a BIN auction that is running on ebay, or a completed auction. I'll start with a couple:

1978 Topps Eddie Murray PSA 8 for $45.99
1957 Topps Bill Mazeroski PSA 6.5 for $110, but he's taking best offers so I bet you could get it for $100 easy

Best one of all, deal wise.... :)

Satchel Paige Rookie card, in high grade will be under $100

1949 Exhibit Supply Co. Satchel Paige....

Most collectors dont know how to tell the different years apart on the 1939-66 Exhibits, the exhibit cards with the "AN EXHIBIT CARD" printed in bottom corner are only from the year 1949. So if your Paige has it..... its his Rookie just as much as any Leaf or Bowman card from the same year. (PS. Leaf bb cards are all from 1949 even though some have a 1948 copyright)

1949 Exhibits "AN EXHIBIT CARD" ie. (M.Marion card is example)

Often, you can still pick up these 1949 Exhibit Supply Co. Satchel Paiges for under $30 with nice eye appeal. I do all the time, but dont have scans right now of one.

While these cards are not around $100 it is the same idea. I was thinking about this the other day. I had some high grade vintage rookie cards on my watch list because I was curious to see how much they would go for. You could have gotten a PSA 8 1954 Topps Ernie Banks rookie, a PSA 8 1954 Topps Hank Aaron rookie, and a PSA 8.5 1955 Topps Sandy Koufax rookie for a total of of about $16,000. The Strasburg Superfractor sold for $25,000. I would much rather have high grade rookies of those all-time greats + $9,000 than a first year pitcher for the Nationals. Just my oppinion though.

Here are the ebay links to the vintage rookies. They are pretty sharp looking.

Fantastic point. What I like about these RC vintage cards in general is people know exactly what they look like in their minds. I don't think the same can be said of modern RCs (or should I say first years?) after Griffey.

In ten years, no matter what, those 3 cards will be worth far more than $16k.

In ten years, no matter what, the Strasburg superfractor will be worth far less than $25k.

It's the same as buying longterm blue chip stocks vs. day trading. Primary reason I collect vintage.

Bob Feller 1948 Bowman

That one is only so expensive because he hasn't signed it.

When I worked with Duke Snider, he told me the most expensive thing in cooperstown was anything not signed by Feller, lol
