Still surprising when I see guys dying that were on cards I pulled from packs as a kid. Its only natural that will happen from time to time and increase as we all age, but with a lot of the guys still alive from the 50s-60s, it's tough to see the "younger" guys passing.

I ran into him at the '01 AS Fan Fest when he was walking the convention floor and was handing our signed photos of himself.

This is my first memory of Vida Blue. Not the best card, but this was the set that got me started.41YfVFbR8DL._UF1000,1000_QL80_.jpg

Sad to hear this. With Sal Bando passing earlier this year as well, it has not been a good year for the 1970's A's dynasty.

That 76 archives design is my favorite Blue card, hands down. I like his 73 Topps a lot as well.
