TOPPS SIGNS YU DARVISH TO EXCLUSIVE AUTOGRAPH TRADING CARD DEAL

Topps is pleased to announce it has signed an exclusive multi-year autograph trading card deal with Japanese pitching phenom Yu Darvish. The deal also gives Topps rights to produce Memorabilia cards, Insert cards and Base cards.

Darvish will make his first autograph card appearance in the upcoming and highly-anticipated Topps Tribute Baseball. The card will be limited to 25 and will be available via redemption. In addition, Darvish autographs will appear in both Topps Museum Collection Baseball (30 cards) and Gypsy Queen Baseball (25 cards).

2012 Bowman Baseball will feature Darvish Autographs in a bigger way. This is where collectors will find Darvish’s Autographed Bowman Chrome Rookie Card
On the heels of Bowman, collectors will find an array of autographed cards from Darvish in Topps products (including the already solicited Topps Archives, Topps Series 2, Tier One, Allen & Ginter, Bowman Platinum and Topps Chrome) in 2012.

Darvish, who signed with the Texas Rangers on January 18th, is one of the most heralded Japanese players to ever come to the U.S. At only 25 years old, Darvish has two MVPs, three strikeout titles (Japanese Pacific League) and a win-loss record of 93-38 under his belt.

If you are selling overseas, you force them to pay the international priority rates.

I wonder if this is why they delayed Tribute for a few days...to get the contract done and pack out the redemptions.

got delayed 2 days, 7th to the 9th

That is the most recent delay, yes. But it was originally planned for Feb, not March.

It may have had no relation to the Darvish stuff, I was just wondering out loud...

Topps is the only company that can make MLB logo cards anyway.

If he is ROY eligible, shouldn't that card feature green instead of red?

Anyway, this was clearly coming so I'm not surprised.

Now they need to lock up Cespedes.
