The AL East has the smallest gap between First Place and Last Place (11.5 Games)

The AL East has the largest gap between First Place and Second Place (9.5 Games)

The AL East has the smallest gap between Second Place and Last Place (2 Games)

Every AL East team is within two games of the Wild Card.

Every AL East team is within one game of being 0.500 or better.

On an unrelated note, Isn't it going to be fun when there is a three way tie for the second Wild Card?

How many tie-breakers will it take to decide who gets to play in the Wild Card tie-breaker?

Definitely been an interesting season so far....but I can't see the Sox making the playoffs if Beckett & Lester don't step up their games. If Ortiz is out of the lineup for an extended period of time then well, last place will welcome us with open arms. It is nice having Ellsbury back though, for example last night he hits a single steals 2nd, and Crawford hits him in with a single of his own. THAT is something we haven't had nearly all year!
