Why hasn't Pat Venditte gotten a shot in NY yet?

He's clearly a career RP....but he appears to be effective in the minors...he could be a "media sensation" in NY...

In 277 IP in the minors he has 318 K's and an ERA of 2.30. A WHIP of 1.05. What's the hold up? Even if he gets rocked in a couple games in the show....the publicity has to be worth it.

Seriously...you could use him to get a LHB out one game and then be long relief the next. He could potentially be one of the greatest BP arms of all time if he's as effective as he is in the minors.

the yankee brass havent a clue when it comes to pitchers. i am praying they give some of the youngsters a chance this year.

If I recall correctly, his right arm is hurt, and is pitching strictly left handed at the moment.

Because he blew out his right shoulder, and has only 13 innings above AA, and wasn't overly effective in AA. His only real value according to most scouts and reports is that he can pitch from both sides, that he's not an effective enough pitcher from either side to be a big league RP

Pretty much nailed it. He's a side show and there's plenty of better options ahead of him. And from the left he throws slop, sitting mid-80's. It'd be cool if he got a chance but really he's not close on the depth chart.
