"2012" Panini Prizm? Aren't we a little late for 2012 releases?

I mean, come on, it's the middle of April 2013, and they're still releasing back-dated 2012 products?

In 5 or 10 years, will we still remember that this product was released so late?

if Beckett had any integrity, they'd list this as a 2012-13 set (or as a 2013 set). How can you have a 2012 set that has players with their 2013 teams (James Shields, Josh Hamilton, Jose Reyes, RA Dickey, and many others) along with 2012 stats? Doesn't this go against pretty much every rule that has ever been set in the history of this hobby?

Panini released 2012 Prizm AFTER they'd already released 2013 Triple Play. Plus, early previews of the 2013 Pinnacle set have Mike Trout "Rookie Cards" in them. Doesn't seem like Panini gives two XXXXs about what year it is.

Its all brian gray's fault as well as leaf's!

Could also be blamed on global warming but chuck norris doesn't agree.

All I know is I wish panini would have produced a product which is COMPLETELY lacking in the baseball market, like a retro style set, or prospect loaded product or $50-$100 pack. Theres just not enough of these to buy.
