Seeing that Torii Hunter retired got me thinking, who will be the last active player with a pre-2000 rookie card? It won't be for several years, but we can still speculate now. A few possibilities:

R.A. Dickey, 1997 - Throws the knuckleball, could pitch practically forever but he's already 40
C.C. Sabathia, 1999 - Only 35, but has not been good the last 3 years
Matt Holliday, 1999 - Also only 35, still a good hitter but declining
Josh Hamilton, 1999 - Only 34, but he hasn't been very good the last 3 seasons and he's got injury and other issues
Carl Crawford, 1999 - Only 34, but no way

Of course it will probably be some boring middle-reliever. Any other guesses?

Now that Hawkins and Hunter have retired, Alex Rodriguez has the oldest rookie card among active players.

1994 - Alex Rodriguez (2 more years)
1995 - bartolo Colon (1 more year)
1996 - AJ Pierzynsky (1-2 more years)
1997 - RA Dickey (3+ more years)
Adrian Beltre (4-5 more years)
Jayson Werth (4-5 more years)

Man there isn't much left from the 1990s :(
