I know I could search and read, but with such a wealth of knowledge here....

Can you tell me what the advantage to having a store is over just doing a 30day posting with auto renew?
How many cards do you need to sell for it to pay off? are final fees same?

Consider you have 100 cards each worth 100 each.

Without store-
I believe listing is .35 each, so listing all would be $35/month - how much is final fee for $100?

With store
monthly cost
listing fees
final fees
any other fees?

They get you on the FVF, anything you sell for 100 they will take a ton away from the store, I believe someone posted on here one time the point at which it is beneficial for a store or a regular listing. I do not recall the poster or when, but maybe you can get lucky and find that. He had all the fees listed and everything. Either way, I try to get the buyer to do offline deals all the time because the fees are killer.

fees are killer for non-store too with fixed price listings....i know the fees are much better if you do auction type listings, but i really want to compare fixed price store to fixed price non-store.

I have a store and do pretty well. I get saved a little on fees by being a powerseller.
Regular monthly fee is like $15. Listing is practically free, its like 5 cents usually I think. FVFs definitely are a killer though. I do well in my store though, because my margins on each card are bigger than they would be at auction.
As a store owner, though, I am kind of pissed that they allow the 30 day fixed thing now. Part of the attraction of the store, and what I figured I was paying for, was the ability to keep stuff up for long periods of time. Kind of a slap in the face to store owners, iMO.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the FVF is the same for fixed price listing vs ebay store listing.

The benefit is the listing fee. Instead of 35 cents, you lis for 3 cents.

The detriment(sp) is that you aren't included in the "Base" search. People have to actually search stores (unless your search brings nothing up in regular listings)

I do fairly well. The important thing is to continuously add things to your inventory.

Exactly. Also helps to have auctions running constantly to draw attention to your store.
I save big time on listing fees. I have around 200 items in my store (hoping to add a lot more when I have time). That's only $6 in listing fees, and I use GTC so they are up forever. It would've been $70ish to list the same number of things without the store. Even factoring the $15/month, it's only $21 in the store.

I just read this, but this is what i calculated...i am thinking if you keep 150+ items all the time, it definetely would make sense to have a store, less than that, I am not so sure it is a bargain, when you consider your listings won't be seen by many...i know for one, I tend to not look at stores unless it is something i really want will i include stores. Also, i think the stores are good if they are rare items....that's just how I summarize it anyway...

auction
insertion .15 (assuming .99 starting price)
8.75% of the initial $25.00 + 3.50% of the remaining
sell price/fvf
$100 / $4.82
$200 / $8.31

fixed listing
insertion .35
12.00% of the initial $50.00 + 6.00% of the remaining
$100 / $11.60
$200 / $15.00

fixed store
$16/month
insertion .03
12.00% of the initial $25.00, +8.00% ($25.01–$100.00) + 4.00% of the remaining
$100 / $9
$200 / $13

assuming 100 listings, will cost you $35/month store will cost you $19/month
assuming 200 listings, will cost you $70/month store will cost you $22/month

Also remember referral credits. If someone finds their way to your store outside of Ebay and buys something you'll get alot of your fees back.

Sold a card for $39.99. Fees were $4.20. Ebay credited my account $3.15.

i completely agree with the above bolded comments. always add more items to your store (im guilty of working alot lately so it has been SERIOUSLY neglected ::facepalm:: ). also the occasional auction(s) of bigger/hotter cards will help drive people to your stores as well. all in all i like having a store. 15 bucks a month and those high FVF fees blow, but being able to continuously have items renew themselves after 30 days of non-selling for only 3 cents is nice!

im also a member on naxcom/sportsbuy and even though they arent gigantic yet they sync up with your ebay store and list it there for free so thats nice too. i miss having lower end cards on the ebay store (like 25 cent/50 cent cards) cuz people seemed to buy those alot from my store, but now i just put them on naxcom and sync up the bigger cards im selling (over a dollar obviously due to ebays policies). its nice too cuz if a card is sold on either site the sync automatically removes it from the other site. high FVF though at naxcom too...but oh well they are cards i want to get rid of and rather than just stare at them or hope someone on FCB or beckett will see them and want to trade or buy id rather put them on there too for more exposure.
