In some cases, sure. Especially with pre-war stuff.
I knew the Chance on the right was trimmed off of the top, but didn't care, as I was putting together this trio as a display for my dad for christmas

Yah, I was going to say only for prewar stuff. Sometimes you can't even find any untrimmed versions of certain cards. If the card is relatively plentiful, I would never buy a trimmed card.
