Big Random Break 2009 SATURDAY, Dec 12, at 08:30 (I know)

I'll be breaking this at 8:30 AM CST tomorrow morning. There is an explination as to why on the second page. Hopefully it'll be a nice, lazy, Saturday-morning distraction.

Hey guys. I remember Rud saying a few weeks ago how quiet this part of the board has been. So I'm going to bust a bunch of "affordable" boxes some time in the next month or so. I've got roughly $600 saved up so far and already have a few boxes put aside (admittedly nicer stuff).

The premise: bust a bunch of random crap for your cathartic enjoyment. Getting a bunch of ~$50 boxes and busting them can be a gamble as they aren't from cases, but i don't care.

If anyone would like to make suggestions on boxes from the past 5 or so years that are in that range and would like to see broken, leave your suggestions here.

Also, if anyone is sitting on a box in that time/price range, hit me up as well. pinetar, for example, has 2008 Masterpieces boxes that fit perfectly into that definition.

I'll keep a running tab of stuff I've got in my sig as well.

Should be fun.

Kind of a steal today. i was in this dive of a card store searching for wax deal. Well, it's outside the frame of what i was going for, but he had tins of 2005 UD HoF for $150, which is cheaper than anywhere I've seen. After i bought one, he asked if i wanted another set aside, b/c he was going to run the price up $20-25 or so.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions fellas. Some of these i was planning on, and some are good ideas i hadn't thought of.

I'm going to keep a running tab in my sig as well.

I got two of these back in 2006 for $50 a piece. Pulled a Gehrig bat 1/1. I love those UD HOF 2005 tins.

Had the means to acquire just a little bit more today. My LCS was having a 50% off sale on 2002-and-older wax. I almost went for 1993 Finest, but chose 1 box each of 2000 and 2002 Fleer Tradition. I don't think the shop owner knew they were back there (I think he thought he was going to move all his early 90s/late 80s crap.) Not bad, for less than $80 (if consider that DLVD).

Then he also cut me a deal on a cheap box of 2006 Flair (it was a Fleer day, huh?)

Anyway, once my Blowout delivery gets here, I'll be set to do this.
