Nats promote Drew Storen to Triple-A
Drew Storen - R - Washington NationalsMore team newsToday - 1:55 PM ET
The Nationals have promoted 2009 first-round pick Drew Storen to Triple-A Syracuse.
No. 1 overall pick Stephen Strasburg should follow closely behind him. Storen has been dominant in his own right, allowing just one run on five hits over 9 1/3 innings while striking out 11 and walking just one. He has a 1.75 ERA, 0.76 WHIP over his first 35 appearances as a pro, averaging 11.7 K/9. Matt Capps has enjoyed some early success as the Nats' closer, but the 22-year-old Storen is on the fast-track to the bigs.
