Albert Belle in upcoming set?

Albert Belle last stepped on a diamond in 2000 and his last cards were in 2001. He hasn't been in a set since, which I find some what interesting.

Anyone think he will be featured in any future sets?! Seems like more and more there are sets which feature retired players but maybe they are HOFer 99% of the time. Just curious what some of your takes are on this because I've been collecting his stuff forever and I'd be excited if a new card spiked in a new set.

maybe Leaf can do retro set and redo some old sets, 90 leaf would be awesome in Metal with retired players

This.....cut the two series down into one 100-150 cards set....

As time goes on and he's not in sets I imagine the payoff his value to a company only increases as collectors wait and wait for something new. He's a lot better than many guys who have been in sets since then.

Addressing another point in this thread, I think that a retired metal set would not be appealing to many purists, though there may still be a nice market for it.

Interesting. If each card came with an autographed parallel, this could be sick.

Frank Thomas Metalized 1990 leaf Autographed on Card with parallels, and a superfractor version 1/1 ? Wow.

Same for

Sosa, Larry Walker, Griffey, Maddux, Big Mac, Etc, That set would be insane to put together no doubt, but very popular.

Doing a set like that with 1992 Bowman would also be amazing

Piazza Chrome Superfractor Auto RC, Mariano Rivera Chrome Superfractor Auto RC

1987 Topps Mac, Canseco, Bo Jackson, Will Clark, Bonds, Mattingly, oh man.


I should just start putting away money for this now.

Well, Jose Canseco has autograph cards in the upcoming UD Goodwins. Well, they're labeled as Jose. Who the hell knows who really signed them. Could have been Ozzie.

Anyways, if Jose can make it into a set, I'm sure Belle can, too. It would probably be some type of "fan favorites" themed product.

EDIT - Just read he's in one.
