Continuing to follow Harper BGS 2011 Bowman Sales

Some time ago, I posted a thread on early Bryce Harper 2011 Bowman BGS sales - things were really popping then. Chrome 9.5s for $75, Base 9.5s for $40, Bowmans Best 9.5s for $80+ and so on and so forth.

Since then, Harper as an 18 year old tore the cover off the ball in the SAL AND just got promoted to AA yet the sales have not kept pace.

Here are a few recent ones:

Purple Ref 9.5 - [phil:3439qw0t]160611336552[/phil:3439qw0t] - that was the price of a raw not long ago
BGS 10 Chrome Ref - [phil:3439qw0t]190546089119[/phil:3439qw0t] - 10 selling for price of 9.5 a month ago
BGS 10 Gold - [phil:3439qw0t]200621048008[/phil:3439qw0t] - less than raw price at release

And the list goes on an on. My question to you is what is your response to these prices? Continue to avoid Harper cards cause you think they are still high or are you considering buying?

I've been buying a few base ungraded chromes for around $8-10 bucks dlvd and base paper cards for around $5 dlvd from 2011 bowman. I might be wrong but I believe they have a chance to go up once the season is over and the prospect prognosticators start singing his praises this offseason.

I GOT A BASE AUTO for 297 few nights ago, was quite pleased

I think they will drop for a bit but skyrocket once he does something awesome at Double A.

i still think there is an outside shot he gets the call in September. especially with Davey as the skip who always liked to give the young guys a chance. i'm sure he's pushing for it.

dont know when his bc auto will come out (soon, im assuming) but in the long run, base chromes and its parallel's will continue to dip once bc auto is live.

also, 2011 bowman boxes are not in par with 2010 bowman so singles will be available, unlike 2010 bowman singles when them damn boxes were hitting like 250 per jumbo.

plus, it still seems as if the 2010 usa chromes are the base chrome cards to have even if he's not in his nats uniform. these are still selling very well.

out of all harpermania cards produced, however, the biggest surprise of them all? the usa buyback autos....holy mother, these are insane...

so to end, base chromes and parallel's just aren't worth it in my honest opinion but that's just me

How do you fake a bowman buyback with the serial numbering on the back?

It seems like $8-$10 a chrome is pretty low risk...but I guess we shall see.

In other Harper news, 40% of the red refractor population is up for auction right now
