"Padres purchased the contract of INF-OF James Darnell from Triple-A Tucson.
Darnell has a .304/.404/.515 batting line and an impressive 239/211 K/BB ratio over parts of four seasons in the minor leagues. He struggled a bit after getting off to a hot start at the Triple-A level, but his polished approach at the plate should serve him well in his first taste of the major leagues. While his experience at third base could prove valuable while Chase Headley is on the disabled list, it's more likely he ends up in the outfield in the long-term." - rotoworld
