Lol when I was helping out at the shop in MN last year a guy cut his NT cards in half. 400 dollar a pack stuff, he didn't cut them all up but he did do some autos and jerseys.

There's a real Mensa candidate who comes into the LCS I frequent, and busts tons of Certified and Limited football. If he doesn't get a patch auto of a rookie, or at least a veteran jersey card, he cuts everything up with a pair of scissors. I watched him destroy Dez Bryant rookies hand-over-fist, because he got a one color jersey... even with that jersey being #ed /25.

I think he does it for show, but he really comes across as a drip.

Jared beat me to it.

The guy won't even give the hits away - I told him to spare a Dallas Clark he had pulled - he just looked at me, and cut it in half.

Sounds like he has some serious mental issues to work out.

Strange how many people in this hobby don't even like or respect cards.

I don't understand why so many people are obsessed with making money on them. You'd think they'd realize that instead of spending $1000 to make less than $300 in 90% of breaks they could just keep the $1000. But, nope -- they want that 10% chance and act surprised when they don't.

Just b/c you are mad at what you pulled? If you don't want them, give them to a kid or something...geez.

If he paid for them, then he should have the right to do whatever he wants with them? Not trying to seem rule, but do you let people tell you what to do with your money?

I love my photobucket.

I think there's a difference between that and standing in the shop - where you bought the cards, surrounding by other customers and the owner - and ruining what you just purchased.

I kind of do the same thing with basketball cards. When I bust a box of cards at home and dont get anything that interests me, I literally throw it all in the garbage. No sorting, no toploading, nothing. Just throw it away and consider the box a form of gambling just like going into the casino and dropping a black chip on red 7.

If im in the card store and dont get anything that interests me, I just leave it all there and let them do wahtever they want with it. If theres a kid around, ill give him/her everything if they want it. Same goes for group case breaks. Ill leave it with the breaker.

If I kept everything you busted, Id have no room in my house

All part of gambling. Same situation when you go to a casino. Spend $1000 to win $300.

Well, the owner needs to disallow people to open packs in the shop then.

As a player collector of a lower end guy, I kinda cringe at stuff like this. How many low numbered cards of my guy are damaged and destroyed all because someone throws a hissy fit over buying a box of cards? It makes my search harder for these cards.

That Halladay patch would have fit nicely into a new collection I just started...

No, people don't need to get their ******* in a *** when they can't seem to comprehend that in order for some packs to be winners then many more packs have to be losers. That's the way it works.

I understand your point of view, but a lot of times, no one wants to buy certain cards. Instead they just want you to give them the cards. Then they get mad because the person rather just trash them and be done with it. Too many double standards in the hobby. It's a sin to damage cards, yet it's great when someone damage a card to make a custom. Or its fine when someone cut an on-card autograph just to make another custom signature cut. It's just cards. You have a forum that's heavy on "PROSPECTORS" complaining about it's not about making money? All the "Steal" and "Flipping" posts. Am I missing something?
