I just got "upgraded" to this -- and it's legitimate, as I Logged into my paypal account and it shows that I'm part of the "Paypal Advantage" level. . . apparently, its for spending $5k a year. The problem is, I'm about 99.9% sure that I haven't spent $3,000 -- let alone $5,000, with Paypal over the past year.

Oh well. Doesn't look like a big deal, and they sent me a code for a free $5 giftcard from Starbucks which is presumably coming to me in email as we speak (I went to Starbucks' website and entered the code, legitimately).

Anyone a PPal Advantage Member, and reaped any of the tremendous benefits?

Signed up yesterday. Wife will use the $5 Starbucks giftcard today. Doubt I'll get much if anything else except "priority customer support". lol In the past they offered $10, hats etc to sign up. Basically you get priority over "regular" members. Doubt I've spent over $5k as you and others that have posted on other boards have stated. Guess the rules lax when the economy is bad.

Yesterday I rec'd $5 cash in the mail along with a invite to do a survey. If I did it, they will then send me $10 more cash. Cash. Crazy. It was a goverment agency too. I thought it was junk mail and almost tossed it.

I'm sure I've spent more than $5k this year but I'm sure I spent a lot more last year. I just got the invite yesterday though with my Starbucks. :)

Been a member since the program was in beta (a year or so). So far, I’ve gotten a paypal tshirt, paypal hat, invites to 2 paypal conferences (1 in sf, 1 in la), a starbucks giftcard, a chance to beta a mobile app, some decent coupons for retailers, and a special support #. It’s kind of like having a TSAM on ebay and/or being an ebay power buyer…it’s nice when you need t hem, but I’m not sure it’s a lifechanger

It is a higher level of customer service. I have had this for about 2 years.
If you sign up and then have over 5k in PayPal transactions either received or spent you are a paypal advantage member

It’s open to biz accts. I have it on my biz acct. It seems like it's kind of random- i know some friends who rarely sell/rarely buy yet have it + friends who are big sellers/buyers + don't have it

Well they had to hit 5k sometime in their account. Because as soon as I hit 5k on my business account they emailed me. But you maybe right about the random-ness of who they contact. I have had this 2 years now. But I will not requalifty for this agian since I hope not to spend they 1100 more I need for the 5k

Got it late last year. Got a free hat, water bottle, and the 3% off at stubhub. Used the customer support line once when I had a problem at DeepDiscount (made an order that didn't appear but I was charged for it), the man was very helpful and deleted the charge in about 2 minutes. Already qualified throughout 2012. I have a Premier account.
