Well there was a McGuyver episode where a thief made off with a woman's son's baseball card collection(stuff from the 40's and 50's) and he went to card shops trying to find the collection.

Also, the movie The Mask with Cher, the kid collected cards and pinned them on a tac board.

One of the Simpson's episodes featured Milhouse, Bart, and one of the other kids that pooled their money together to buy a comic book for $100 that subsequently got destroyed. Anyways...Milhouse wanted to use his money to buy a Carlton Fisk rookie if I remember correctly?

Needful Things with the Mantle rookie?

There was even an episode of something like Hey dude or something like that on nickelodian where there were some cards featured. Also, my brother and me always had basketball and baseball cards on the shows. And Clarissa explains it all, the little dweeb brother collected. Hey...what the hell do you expect with female cousins. I couldn't hog the television when we were all at grandmas for the summer.:D

Dude...it's been a while.:p And...I just snagged needful things on dvd. I thought it was a Mantle. Damn... As far as the simpsons goes, I remember that back when I was in high school so it's been at least 11 years if not more. I know at least they were after a Radioactive Man #1 for the $100 which then got blown out of their tree house after they fought over who got to take it home. Then it fell onto the ground and was rained on and then lightning hit it.

There was a movie about a guy who was locked in a bomb shelter his whole life and when he finally gets out he sells off his old baseball cards...

It starred the guy from the Mummy movies.

No pics but the movie Diminished Capacity has a fictitious card in it that is supposed to represent the T206 Wagner.

This thread is genius. Especially the title.

So where can I get my hands on those Sam Malone cards? I must have them!

In the movie it was Mantle, in the book it was Koufax

Dan Gutman has written a whole series of children's books based on cards.

Swindle is another children's book that revolves around a kid getting back his rare Ruth ($1,000,000) that a local dealer stole for $120. Wait is it Ruth or Hosmer? I'm not sure.

Not a movie, but a recent episode of the TV show "Canadian Pickers" (Yes, its just like American Pickers, lol), the guys go to a card shop in Montreal and do some buying. They show multiple Hockey and Baseball cards and the guys even buy an autographed Jersey and a couple autographed Hockey 8x10's while in there. Almost half the episode takes place in the card shop and the owner even takes the pickers to the card shop basement were he keeps stuff that the public doesn't see.

Its a pretty cool episode to see for people like us who like Sports cards and memorabilia.
